On September 29, 2020, Jermaine Kearse announced his retirement after an eight-season NFL career. An undrafted free agent out of the University of Washington, Kearse signed with the Seattle Seahawks in 2012 and quickly became one of Seattle’s most dependable and impactful players.

While playing for the New York Jets, Kearse—who began golfing in 2013—participated in the 2018 Pro-Am at The Travelers Championship at TPC River Highlands (Cromwell, CT) alongside Jordan Spieth.

​Reflecting on Kearse’s growth as a golfer, his brother Jovan Kearse said, “It’s been an interesting ride to see where he started to where he is now. It’s kind of like his football career. He started undrafted out of college, and he’s come a long way.”

Noting the parallels between his football career and golf journey, Kearse said, “My football career has been its own journey, with plenty of highs and lows. I’ve taken the lessons from those experiences and applied them to my golf game. I started playing golf in 2013/14, and I’m determined to improve every day—just like I did with football.”
