An undrafted free agent out of the University of Washington, Kearse signed with the Seattle Seahawks in 2012 and quickly established himself as one of Seattle's most dependable and impactful players. While playing for the New York Jets, Kearse, who began golfing in 2013, participated in the 2018 Pro-Am at The Travelers Championship (TPC River Highlands) alongside Jordan Spieth. Reflecting on Kearse's growth as a golfer, his brother, Jovan Kearse, said, "It's been an interesting ride to see where he started to where he is now. It's kind of like his football career. He started out undrafted out of college, and he’s come a long way." As his brother pointed out the parallels between his football career and golf journey, Kearse shared, "My football career has been its own journey, with plenty of highs and lows. I've taken the lessons from those experiences and applied them to my golf game. I started playing golf in 2013/14, and I’m determined to improve every day—just like I did with football." "Much like football, golf requires a 'next opportunity' mindset. It's helped me move past previous shots and stay focused on the task at hand, always ready for the next opportunity," said Kearse.
